President Trump arrived in Texas on Tuesday to check on the recovery efforts from Tropical Storm Harvey. Joined by first lady Melania Trump, Trump first stopped in Corpus Christi, about 30 miles south of where Harvey made landfall as a Category 4 storm. He then traveled to Austin, where he toured the Emergency Operations Center and got a briefing from state officials. Rain is still falling in Houston, where parts of the city have already been deluged with four feet of rain. So far, 15 people have died from hurricane-related incidents, including one Houston police officer. The National Weather Service warns that Harvey is expected to make a second landfall Wednesday in Louisiana.
