Tea Partier's 'Leaving Islam' bus stunt
The conversative blogger who's emblazoned 40 New York City buses with ads targeting Muslims claims she's simply providing advice

"Leaving Islam?" inquires an ad on the side of a New York City bus. "Fatwa on your head? Is your family threatening you?" The ad, one of 40 purchased by conservative blogger and Tea Party activist Pamela Geller, publicizes refugefromislam.com, a site she claims provides genuine advice and information for those wishing to give up their Muslim faith. These sort of "cheap tactics" are typical of Islamophobes like Geller, said Faiza Ali, director of community affairs at the Council on American-Islamic Relations in New York, to CNN. Geller's "smokescreen of feigned concern" hides the "cancerous nature of her agenda." Geller, who leads a group called Stop the Islamization of America, told the Associated Press that her ads don't target "practicing" Muslims. "[The copy] doesn't say 'leave,' it says 'leaving' with a question mark." Watch a report on the controversy:
