Palin slams Obama for 'pussy-footing': The backlash
Days after the president authorized a daring commando raid, Palin earns mockery by suggesting he's a wimp

arah Palin is protesting President Obama's decision to withhold photos of Osama bin Laden's bloody corpse, saying that the images should be made public as a warning to others trying to destroy America. "No pussy-footing around, no politicking, no drama," the potential GOP 2012 contender tweeted Wednesday. "It's part of the mission." But, given the president's recent track record as Commander in Chief, not everyone was thrilled by Palin's word choice. Here's a sampling of the widespread mockery her tweet provoked:

It's all in the timing
"Obama just sent 40 SEALs to execute someone in a sovereign nation without telling that country's leaders and based on uncertain intelligence," says Jim Newell at Gawker, "but now that he won't release some snuff porn photos, he is 'pussy-footing' around and damaging The Mission, defined here as scarin' the poop out of everyone."

Palin's out of her league
"Who does Palin think is 'pussy-footing' around?" asks Joan Walsh at Salon. "The president? Navy SEALs? In what world does the quitter from Wasilla get to determine 'it's part of the mission'? No world we live in, thank God."

How hawkish does Obama need to be?
"God! Just like a liberal to shoot bin Laden in the face, dump his body to the sharks, then pussy-foot all over the place," tweets Talking Points Memo's Benjy Sarlin.

Brilliant!
"Palin seems to think that holding back the photos is just weak-kneed crap, and that publicizing the pics would be an effective means of curbing people’s hatred of America," says Cam Martin at the Good Men Project. "Seamless logic, really. Right up there with executions serving as a deterrent to criminals."

Real presidential material
"As for that quote, is this 1862?" says Stevie at Prune Juice Media. "Pussy-footing?! Just when I think she can’t get any worse. And in her warped mind she actually wants to run the free world!"

Let's all agree to ignore her
Palin's ridiculous tweet "seems more blatantly like a cry for attention than usual," says Alexandra Petri in The Washington Post. "Sarah Palin is like coffee ice cream, in the sense that I gave that up once for Lent, realized I could get by without it, and stopped craving it altogether."
