Climate change: How at risk is your city?

An environmental group has put together forecasts for 12 U.S. cities, and for some the future looks grim

American cities can expect to see more flooding, more drought, and more powerful storms in the coming years, according to a recently published report from the Natural Resources Defense Council. The organization used information from the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the Pacific Institute, a nonpartisan think tank, to develop forecasts for 12 U.S. cities. "Remember the extreme rains and snow in the West, then tornadoes, then the Mississippi flooding (pictured), then the Missouri flooding, then more tornadoes?" says Peter Gleick of the Pacific Institute, as quoted in The Huffington Post. "Welcome to the future, today!" Here's a look at how these 12 cities will fare under the full brunt of climate change.
