year after Japan was rocked by an earthquake, a tsunami, and a nuclear crisis, the country is still grappling with the destruction and emotional trauma wrought on communities across its northeastern coast. Though Japan has made extraordinary rebuilding progress, it's struggling with "a heartbreaking grief," Eiko Yoshida, an official in Fukushima prefecture, tells The New York Times.
