Cops arrest Zimmerman's wife on perjury charge
The wife of George Zimmerman, the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, was arrested Tuesday on a perjury charge. Shellie Zimmerman is charged with knowingly making false statements about the couple's finances during her husband's bond hearing in April. She has already posted a $1,000 bond herself, and has been released. George Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting the 17-year-old Martin. A Florida judge revoked his bail earlier this month after prosecutors argued that he also lied about the couple's finances. He is currently in jail awaiting trial.

"I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son," George Zimmerman told Trayvon Martin's parents at his bail hearing. "I did not know how old he was... I did not know if he was armed or not."
