Judge orders release of Trayvon Martin crime scene photos
A Florida judge has ordered the release of a batch of evidence related to the Trayvon Martin case, in response to motions filed by several media companies who want the information made public. The material includes an autopsy report, crime scene photos, and George Zimmerman's statements to police. Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the February shooting death of Martin, and is currently awaiting trial. Judge Kenneth Lester wrote that the disclosure of the evidence "will irreparably harm" the chances of a fair trial, but Florida's unusually strong open records law forced his hand.
