San Francisco Giants ace Matt Cain threw a perfect game against the Houston Astros, striking out 14 batters and allowing no runners on base. It was the first perfect game in Giants history, and only the 22nd ever thrown in Major League Baseball. Perfect game No. 21 was in April, when Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber shut out the Seattle Mariners.
