Michael Strahan named Kelly Ripa's new co-host

fter months of speculation, Broadcasting & Cable is reporting that former NFL star Michael Strahan has been tapped as Kelly Ripa's co-host on what will be called Live! With Kelly and Michael. While the choice of the famously friendly former defensive end may come as something of a surprise to casual fans, Strahan's name first appeared on a short list with SNL head writer Seth Meyers and singer Josh Groban several months ago. Despite taking on the new job, Strahan will still co-host Fox NFL Sunday.
