uperstorm Sandy is limping through western Pennsylvania on its way up north to Canada, much of its power already spent wreaking havoc and destruction first in the Caribbean and then along the East Coast. Sandy isn't done dumping water on America's most populous region, and the extent of the damage is still being tallied, says Ted Anthony of The Associated Press. But so far, the "weather event of a lifetime" has left in its wake "a dazed, inundated New York City, a waterlogged Atlantic Coast, and a moonscape of disarray and debris — from unmoored shore-town boardwalks to submerged mass-transit systems to delicate presidential politics."
