"If you ever wondered how Radiohead's 'Creep' would sound if Lance Armstrong sang it, you're in luck," says Lorenzo Franceschi-Bicchierai at Mashable. Soon after the disgraced cyclist's confession to Oprah Winfrey that despite a dozen years of litigious, pugilistic denial he had, in fact, used performance-enhancing drugs to win his seven Tour de France championships, parody videos started springing up on the web. Netherlands-based video editor Matthijs Vlot has one of the best, splicing together Armstrong's own words (with an assist from Oprah) into a near-perfect distillation of what much of the world thinks of the fallen idol.
Yeah, "we've heard some good covers of Radiohead's 'Creep' in our time but this one will take a bit of beating," says Niall Kelly at Ireland's The Score. Assuming his lifetime in sports is over, "maybe a career in music beckons for Lance?" Truly, "we knew he was an actor, we now know he can sing too," snarks Declan Whooley at the Irish site Joe. We hope Radiohead agrees, but "it is hard to think of a more fitting song for the finally self-confessed sporting cheat."
