1. Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan already has his next TV show lined up
Breaking Bad's series finale airs on Sunday, but if you're fretting over what your new TV obsession will be, the show's creator Vince Gilligan has your answer — you'll just need to wait a year to watch it. Variety reports that Gilligan has lined up a new drama called Battle Creek, which he plans to executive produce. According to early reports, Battle Creek will follow two Michigan cops "with very different world views" — so maybe it's just a reboot of Low Winter Sun? [Variety]

2. Hollywood has given up on producing romantic comedies
If you've been eagerly waiting the next great romantic comedy, you should probably resign yourself to catching reruns of Bridget Jones' Diary on cable. According to The Hollywood Reporter, studios have all but abandoned the once-popular genre over concerns that it's not making enough money. The report adds that recent rom-com failures have included The Big Wedding and What To Expect When You're Expecting — which is surely because everyone hates romantic comedies now, and not because those are terrible movies. 3. Boardwalk Empire has been renewed for a fifth season
While everyone is talking about this Sunday's Breaking Bad finale and Homeland premiere, HBO has quietly renewed its own prestige drama, Boardwalk Empire, for a fifth season. "Boardwalk Empire is in a class by itself," said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo in a statement. "I look forward to another electrifying season of this impeccably crafted series." And I look forward to being bored by Boardwalk Empire all season, until it suddenly gets really good in the last two episodes and tricks me into watching it again next year. [The Hollywood Reporter]

4. Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf took a camping trip together
In preparation for the upcoming World War II drama Fury, co-stars Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf and the rest of the film's cast were ordered by director David Ayer to take a three-day male-bonding camping trip in Buckinghamshire, England. "He dropped them in the wilderness — without their cell phones!" a source tells Us Weekly, revealing a fate worse than death for any Hollywood power player. The source adds that the weather at the time was in the 50s, requiring the actors to get "pretty cozy in the tents they were sharing" — so feel free to update your slash fiction accordingly. 5. You can buy your very own Miley Cyrus foam finger
Looking for this year's "hilarious" topical Halloween costume? Look no further than Amazon.com, where you can buy a replica of Miley Cyrus' "foam twerk finger" — immortalized in her performance during this year's VMAs ceremony — for the low, low price of $14.99. Alas, a giant teddy bear costume is much harder to track down, but don't worry, would-be Mileys: The foam finger will be more than enough to make sure everyone avoids you at the Halloween party.
