1. MTV wouldn't let Miley Cyrus go topless at the VMAs
It's safe to say that Miley Cyrus' twerk-happy VMA performance turned out to be a little controversial — but if Cyrus had gotten her way, the envelope would have been pushed a lot further. In her MTV special Miley: The Movement, Cyrus revealed that she originally tried to do her performance topless, but that MTV wouldn't allow it. "If I really wanted to come out and do a raunchy sex show, I wouldn't have been dressed as a bear," said Cyrus, referring to the costume she wore for about three seconds before stripping down to a flesh-colored bikini. In the land of the fall TV season, the headless man is king. 4. Stevie Nicks is a huge Game of Thrones fan
HBO's Game of Thrones continues to amass new fans every year, but the show's latest superfan is a little more high-profile: Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks. "I've written a bunch of poetry about it — one for each of the characters. On Jon Snow… On Arya… On Cersei and Jaime," said Nicks in an interview with Vanity Fair. She also offered to write some music for the series, so if you see her reflection in the snow-covered hills, remember: Winter is coming. [Vanity Fair]

5. NBC's Camp has been canceled
Remember Camp, the Rachel Griffiths-starring dramedy about an offbeat summer camp that premiered this summer? No? Then you're probably not going to be too broken up by the news that NBC has decided not to renew the low-rated series. "It was a great summer and I loved every minute of it," tweeted star Nikolai Nikolaeff. "Sorry to all the @NBCCamp fans out there but no go on #CampSeason2" — launching a hashtag that is currently trending absolutely nowhere. [TV Line]
