Melky Cabrera welcomed new Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka with a home run

Starting a new job is always a bit nerve-wracking.

Starting a new job worth $175 million based on the assumption that you're the pitcher to have on a roster is even more pressure. The New York Yankees' free agent acquisition Masahiro Tanaka led the team with 26 strikeouts this spring, though, notching a 2.14 ERA. So when he faced his first batter, Melky Cabrera of the Toronto Blue Jays, on Friday night, it actually went pretty—

Oh. Was that a home run? Yeah, yeah it was.

Cabrera walloped one to right center field on Tanaka's third pitch, although the right-hander recovered enough to strike out eight with no walks for the Yankees' 7-3 win.

Welcome to the Big Leagues.
