2007 has logged a record level of initial public offerings, both in terms of money raised and number of offerings, Ernst & Young reported yesterday. The $255 billion raised in the 1,739 IPOs so far this year exceeds the previous record of $246 billion for all 1,729 IPOs in 2006. China led in 2007, with $52.6 billion, followed by the U.S., at $38.7 billion, and Brazil, with $29 billion. (MarketWatch)
