What the commentators said
This is “sad news for comedy and monogamy fans,” said Vanity Fair's Culture & Celebrity blog. They were one of Hollywood’s funniest and most adored couples. Along with their breakup goes the faith that “their union was the binding force that kept Hollywood from exploding in a mass chain reaction of irony and sexual frivolity.”

What we can’t understand is why the seemingly “happy couple” broke up, said the Think Fashion blog. They “appeared to be one of Hollywood’s most secure romances.” We really wish there was something “juicy” at the “center of this debacle,” but “unfortunately,” like every other Hollywood couple, they probably just ‘grew apart.’”

We actually see a couple of positives to this, said Georgea Kovanis in the Detroit Free Press. First of all, this is “good news for singles everywhere,” as “two funny people are back on the market!” And secondly, at least this is finally a bit of celebrity new that is “not related to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s newborn twins.”
