1. E.L. James is the highest-earning author in the world

Say what you will about Fifty Shades of Grey, but when it comes to green, author E.L. James has the entire literary world wrapped in bondage chains. Forbes reports that James earned a whopping $95 million this year, which makes her the highest-earning author in the world by a sizable margin. Entertainment Weekly adds that the report has James towering over J.K.
