The Jon Stewart-Bill O'Reilly debate: Who lost?

The commentators square off in an overhyped "Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium" — and in the end, the real losers may have been viewers

As political pundits continue to obsessively parse the impact of last week's presidential debate, a decidedly lower-stakes face-off is also drawing plenty of attention. On Saturday, The Daily Show's Jon Stewart and The O'Reilly Factor's Bill O'Reilly squared off in the "Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium" — a 90-minute debate in front of a crowd of 1,500 at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. (Watch the video below.) They sparred about PBS, the Iraq War, the national debt, tax cuts, and the welfare state — and though professional wrestling-style championship belts were awarded to both Stewart and O'Reilly at the end of the debate, there are no shortage of opinions on who really lost the night.
