Santorum endorses Romney for president

In a lukewarm statement, Santorum said that Romney was preferable to President Obama.

It was hidden in the 13th paragraph of a lengthy email to supporters, posted without fanfare on his website at midnight on a Monday, but former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum this week endorsed Mitt Romney, his former opponent in the race for the GOP nomination for president. In a lukewarm statement, Santorum stressed the differences between himself and the former Massachusetts governor, but concluded that Romney was preferable to President Obama: “It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious. Gov. Romney will be that nominee, and he has my endorsement and support to win this, the most critical election of our lifetime.”
