The Week Opinion Awards are the only awards recognizing and celebrating the nation’s best opinion writing.
The Week Opinion Awards are an expansion of the magazine’s editorial mission: To select and highlight reasoned, lucid, and insightful commentary, and to encourage intelligent dialogue about current events in a nonpartisan atmosphere.
The Week provides its readers with the best current-events commentary from the Left and the Right, from the United States and abroad. As the media landscape becomes increasingly polarized, The Week Opinion Awards encourage excellence among the opinion journalists who are both thoughtful and eloquent.
This year's awards ceremony were held on May 11 at The W Hotel in Washington, D.C. David Gregory, the moderator of Meet the Press, hosted the ceremony. He was joined by two panelists: Austan Goolsbee, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).
