Best websites for following style trends
Sites with news and reflections about the fashion industry
Nymag.com/daily/fashion features the Cut, New York magazine’s “go-to source for fashion news.” Writer Amy Odell injects acerbic wit into every post, as she covers “almost every inch of the industry,” from new items on the runway to the First Lady’s wardrobe choices.
Acontinuouslean.com is written by Michael Williams, co-owner of a New York showroom, who reports on industry news and reflects on designers and styles. Subjects of recent posts have included “buffalo-plaid jackets” from a Minnesota wool mill and archival Life magazine photos.
Thesartorialist.com has gained notoriety for earthy “images of street style” from around the world, captured by photographer Scott Schuman, a former marketer for Valentino and Jean-Paul Gaultier. Donna Karan, who counts herself among the Sartorialist’s fans, hired Schuman to shoot this fall’s DKNY ad campaign.
