Cops & Doughnuts, and more

Nine policemen in Clare, Mich., have saved the 113-year old Clare City Bakery from closing.

Cops & Doughnuts

Everyone knows that cops love doughnuts. Now, nine policemen in Clare, Mich., have taken that affection to a new level. When the Clare City Bakery was on the verge of closing after 113 years, the officers bought the establishment and rechristened it Cops & Doughnuts. In addition to the store’s baked goods, the new owners are offering mugs and T-shirts with such mottoes as “Handcuffs and Cream Puffs” and “You Have the Right to Remain Glazed.” “We’re trying to do what we can to help the community,” said Officer Al White, “and have fun doing it.”
