The U.S. is spreading malicious lies about Nigeria, said the Abuja Daily Trust in an editorial. Early this month, the U.S. State Dept. put out an alert warning that terrorists were about to attack embassies in this country. Needless to say, nothing happened. Nigeria is not a terrorist country—we don’t even have “crazed and gun-toting high school students who kill their fellow students and teachers, as is rampant in the U.S.” The fake alert was nothing but a “strategy to arm-twist Nigeria’s rulers” to make economic concessions to the Americans. Such a tactic “callously fits into the imperialist strategy of always seeking to further impoverish developing countries.”
