The steps Barack Obama has taken are too weak to save American capitalism from its "comprehensive and final" gasp, said Raul Valdes Vivo in Cuba's Granma. This time the cyclical crises embedded in the "modern system of exploitation" have fallen prey to the "demented pursuit of hegemony of the United States." The crisis of U.S. capitalism is really many crises: financial, energy, food, ecological, aggressive imperialist, ideological, unchecked consumerism, and moral (10 percent of America is addicted to drugs). And taking baby steps to dismantle this reverse-Robin-Hood system -- which robs from the poor to further enrich the rich -- won't be enough. The only way out for America now is to "adopt the communist mode of production."
