Four signs that your phone is dying
Tip of the week…
▪The screen malfunctions. When the screen starts ignoring taps and swipes, or responds very slowly, your phone is most likely near death. A screen that flickers or displays bands or vertical lines isn’t done, though, so have that problem looked at by a pro.
▪It constantly reboots. Phones that repeatedly shut down without warning probably need a new battery, as do phones that run too briefly on a charge. If the battery can’t be easily replaced, you can extend the phone’s life with an external battery pack. If not, it’s time to look for a new phone.
▪It slows to a crawl. Try dumping unneeded files and apps, updating your software, and—after backing up files—resetting the phone. When those steps don’t work, it’s probably replacement time.
▪It overheats. An overheated phone can explode, so have it checked immediately. Be especially cautious if the battery is bulging. Source: CheatSheet.com
