It wasn’t all bad
▪ When 7-year-old Brady Duke heard that a local police officer had been shot dead in the line of duty, he knew he had to help. The Wisconsin boy packed up his prized Nintendo Wii and his favorite video games, and donated them to the Wausau Police Department wi his mom, Jessica.
▪ Sean “The Champ” McCarthy packs a mean punch. The 46-year-old former park ranger was born with cerebral palsy, which affects body and muscle coordination, but just over a decade ago he decided to challenge himself by taking up boxing. ▪ Katie Blomquist has many fond memories of riding a bicycle as a child. But the first-grade teacher recently realized that such experiences were out of reach for many kids at her South Carolina school, because their low-income families couldn’t afford bikes.
