Boring but important
Trump TV goes live
Political commentator Kayleigh McEnany left her role at CNN this week to help launch “Trump TV,” a “real news” product dedicated to celebrating President Trump’s successes at the White House. In her first newscast, paid for by Trump’s re-election campaign and posted on Facebook, McEnany touted the strong economic growth of the past few months. “President Trump has clearly steered the economy back in the right direction,” says McEnany. The former U.S. ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, said the 90-second video felt “eerily like so many state-owned channels I’ve watched in other countries.” But Trump supporters said it was standard public relations. McEnany has also been named the new national spokesperson for the Republican National Committee.
