Drinks: Party cocktails
When you’re hosting a holiday party and need one killer cocktail, “the trick is not to overthink it,” said Kate Krader in Bloomberg.com. Try to find a three-ingredient drink, preferably one in which the proportions are simple, so they can be easily scaled up. Here are three:
Toffee Negroni Mix one part aged rum, one part amontillado sherry, and one part Aperol. Stir in ice and pour into rocks glasses garnished with grapefruit twists.
The Trifecta Punch Mix 24 oz gin and 12 oz Aperol and refrigerate. To serve add 64 oz chilled sparkling rosé and pour into rocks glasses garnished with cranberries. Serves 12.
Fitty-Fitty Martini Mix 36 oz gin, 36 oz dry vermouth, and 24 dashes orange bitters. Add ½ cup water and refrigerate. Pour into chilled martini glasses garnished with lemon twists. Serves 12.
