Charity of the week
Every day, more than 16,000 children under 5 years old die worldwide because they lack access to medication and sanitation. The mission of PATH (path.org) is to save lives and improve health systems in impoverished nations. The organization takes an innovative approach to reforming health care, combining research, technology, and community collaboration to deliver the most effective services. Its work focuses on five areas: distributing vaccines, developing drugs, tracking diseases, creating next-generation health tools and devices, and training local providers. PATH has programs in more than 70 countries and partners with governments, businesses, and community organizations in the areas of reproductive health, maternal and child health, water sanitation, and disease prevention and control.
