Hotel of the week
Forget overwater bungalows, said Nikki Ekstein in Bloomberg.com. Later this year, Hilton will open the world’s first underwater bungalow at its Conrad resort in the Maldives. Called the Muraka (which means “coral” in the local language), the three-bedroom villa has one floor above water and another 16.4 feet below sea level. Down there, nothing but a see-through acrylic dome separates the king-size bedroom and living area from the reef just beyond. “Privacy isn’t an issue, unless the fish make you shy: The villa is far from the rest of the resort.”
