Hotel of the week
Moxy Chicago Downtown
Chicago’s first Moxy hotel “has the bones of a boutique hotel and the communal soul of a hostel,” said Lori Rackl in the Chicago Tribune. Moxy is a new line of Millennial-minded Marriott properties that focus on affordability and socializing, so the airy lobby at this River North locale “has more places to chill than an igloo,” including a game area; a bar; a library stuffed with books, vinyl records, and turntables; and a taco counter. The 156 small guest rooms use space-saving folding chairs and tables, and the retro rotary phones tell bedtime stories—naughty or nice—on demand.
