Twitter rolls out 'mute' feature

If your Twitter feed is filled with updates from friends from whom you don't need consistent updates, Twitter's new "mute" feature is for you. Similar to Facebook's "unfollow" feature, you'll be able to hide users from appearing in your Twitter feed without actually unfollowing them.

"Mute gives you even more control over the content you see on Twitter by letting you remove a user's content from key parts of your Twitter experience," Paul Rosania, Twitter's product manager, said in a statement. The feature is available in standard web browsers as well as in Twitter's iOS and Android apps.
