Google Street View presents: Polar bears in action
Hey, it's International Polar Bear Day! How are you celebrating?
Whatever the festivities, it couldn't possibly compare to Google's dedicated polar bear Street View, which launched today.
In October 2013, the dedicated Google Maps team ventured to the Canadian Arctic to check out one of the biggest natural polar bear populations in the world in Churchill, Manitoba, according to NBC. With mounted cameras and a "tundra buggy," the team ventured into the snowy landscape, capturing 360-degree panorama views of a place few people will ever step foot in.
