An elite kitchen starter kit

"Back in the day," every bride in France started her first home with "a starter kit of sorts," better known as a trousseau, said Gabriella Gershenson at the Wall Street Journal. The Malle W. Trousseau ($5,800) updates the concept by packaging 43 kitchen tools that are arguably the "best-designed" and "most essential" made today — a cast-iron casserole from Finland, Japanese cutting knives, even a leather apron based on an old blacksmith design. Only New York's Museum of Modern Art sells the trousseau in the U.S. "The good news is, you don't have to get married to buy one."
