Jim Gaffigan: Father's Day is 'sort of like celebrating Darth Vader's birthday'

"Mother's Day, I get," comedian Jim Gaffigan told Jimmy Fallon on Friday's Tonight Show, after Fallon wished an underwhelmed Gaffigan a happy Father's Day. "I mean, the mothers, they gave birth to to us. But Father's Day?... Father's Day is sort of like celebrating Darth Vader's birthday." Gaffigan has a lot of kids — rich fodder for his comedy routine — but Father's Day "feels like a holiday that's sort of an afterthought," he said, pretty sensibly.

Gaffigan went on to lightly mock Father's Day presents, Fallon's children book, and his 4-year-old child. Which is probably funnier than it sounds. Happy afterthought day, dads. Peter Weber
