A Maryland judge ruled Monday that Baltimore Police Officer William Porter will be tried again for the death of Freddie Gray, a black man who suffered a fatal spinal injury in the back of a police van in April. Porter's previous trial on charges of manslaughter resulted in a hung jury last week. The first of six officers tried in connection with the death of Gray, he will face the same charge on June 13.

The next trial in the case begins Jan. 6 with Officer Caesar R. Goodson Jr., who Reuters reports faces the most serious charge of "second-degree depraved-heart murder."
