After disappointing singe-digit numbers in the New Hampshire primary, Chris Christie announced Tuesday evening that he would not be going on to South Carolina on Wednesday as he had originally planned. He said instead he would be returning to New Jersey to "take a deep breath" and think through his presidential bid.

Christie had been pulling for a valuable second-place finish, which ultimately went to John Kasich. With over half of the precincts reporting, Christie currently flounders in sixth place.
