The Royal Caribbean cruise ship "Anthem of the Seas" is returning to Bayonne, New Jersey, Thursday night after an 8-year-old boy was discovered unconscious in a pool.

The boy is currently on life support, ABC New York reports. The ship will be met at the port by firefighters, and he will be transported to a local hospital. Law enforcement sources said the boy was part of a group of 49 travelers from the Netherlands. In a statement, Royal Caribbean said he was "treated by the ship's medical team after an accident in one of the ship's swimming pools, but required additional medical attention."
