Singer Robin Thicke is remembering his father Alan Thicke, who died Tuesday at age 69, as being "always a gentleman."

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he confirmed his dad suffered a heart attack earlier in the day while playing hockey; Alan Thicke was with one of his other sons, Carter, and had just complimented Carter on making a nice shot. Alan Thicke was "the greatest man I ever met," Robin Thicke added, and supported his decision to go into music. "The good thing was that he was beloved and he had closure," he told the Times. "I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him."
