While President Trump has offered no tweets in defense of his son, Donald Trump Jr., who on Tuesday was definitively tied to knowingly meeting with a Russian government source for information about Hillary Clinton, America's 45th president said in a statement read by Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders that "my son is a high quality person and I applaud his transparency."

Trump Jr. released a startling email chain on Tuesday confirming he met with a Kremlin-linked source in June 2016 to get information about Clinton. Many people have responded in utter bafflement at his honest, and potentially incriminating, confession.
