Usually, 14-year-old Brennan Walker takes the bus to his high school in Rochester Hills, Michigan. But he missed the bus Thursday morning, so he decided to walk.

But Walker got lost on the way. So the black teenager knocked on a door for directions — and got shot at.

The woman who answered the door told 911 operators that a black male was trying to break into her home, BuzzFeed News reported. She said her husband chased Walker through the yard, and the county sheriff's office confirmed the man shot at Walker as he ran away.

The 53-year-old shooter was taken into custody and is expected to face charges, per WXYZ Detroit.
