Omarosa Manigault Newman reportedly secretly taped Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner
If you have ever met Omarosa Manigault Newman, as a member of the Trump administration or just passing her by on the street, just assume she taped everything you said.
Two people close to the former White House aide told Politico on Monday that she recorded phone calls she received from President Trump's daughter Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, after she was fired last December by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. Ivanka Trump and Kushner are both senior advisers to the president, and are heard on the tape wishing Manigault Newman luck and telling her they had no idea she was going to get fired, Politico reports.
Manigault Newman became famous after appearing as a villain on Trump's reality show The Apprentice, and was close to Trump until her latest firing. She's now on a publicity tour for her new book, Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House, and has said she's heard tapes of Trump saying the N-word. On Sunday, she released a recording of Kelly firing her, saying, "I'd like to see this be a friendly departure. There are pretty significant legal issues that we hope don't develop into something that, that'll make it ugly for you." On Monday, she released another recording, this time of Trump saying he didn't know about her firing. On Twitter, Trump said "Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time."
