A federal judge on Tuesday ruled that the federal government's process for adding people to its no-fly list is unconstitutional because it gives those blacklisted no recourse to challenge their inclusion.

Thirteen Muslims in Oregon who were on the no-fly list challenged the process in court after they were prevented from boarding a flight back in 2010. In siding with the plaintiffs, U.S. District Court Judge Anna Brown ruled that international travel was not a "mere convenience or luxury," but rather "a necessary aspect of liberties sacred to members of a free society."

Therefore, Brown ordered the government to come up with a new process for removing people from the list.
