Obama: 'America's resurgence is real'
During President Obama's final press conference of the year, he praised America's continuing job creation and falling uninsured rate in 2014.
Obama emphasized that 2014 was the strongest year for job growth since the 1990s, with more than 11 million new jobs created. He also reminded the audience that the American auto industry had its strongest year since 2005, creating a number of new job opportunities. "Our rescue of the auto industry is officially over," Obama said.
During his discussion of the Affordable Care Act, Obama noted that the uninsured rate is at a record low, and the price of healthcare has risen at its slowest rate in roughly 50 years.

The president also thanked American troops, noting that in less than two weeks, America's combat mission in Afghanistan will be over.
Obama added that while he and Congress will "disagree on some things," he is confident that they can reach compromise on important issues in 2015.
"Pick any metric you want, America's resurgence is real," Obama said. "We are better off."
