One U.S. soldier was killed and seven injured during a training exercise Thursday, after an explosion occurred at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina, WTVD reports. In a statement, Fort Bragg officials identified the deceased soldier as Staff Sgt. Alexander P. Dalida of Dunstable, Massachusetts, and said the cause of death is under investigation. Dalida enlisted in the Army in 2006, and had received several awards and decorations, including the Army Achievement Medal and Air Medal. Fort Bragg services more than 50,000 active duty personnel.
