President Trump confirmed during a meeting with state governors Monday that he intends to ban bump stocks. "I don't care if Congress does it or not, I'm writing it out myself," the president said of the device, which modifies semiautomatic weapons to fire faster and was used in the massacre of 58 people in Las Vegas last year. Trump also reiterated his plan to arm schoolteachers, claiming he would have personally "run in" to the Florida high school where 17 people were killed earlier this month "even if I didn't have a weapon." Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) pushed back on Trump's proposal: "I just suggest we need a little less tweeting here and a little more listening," he said.
