Hurricane Florence has strengthened into a "major" Category 4 hurricane and will likely hit America's southeast coast as an "extremely dangerous" storm on the brink of a Category 5, the National Hurricane Center predicted Monday. Florence became a hurricane Sunday, and is expected to gain even more fuel as it bypasses the Bahamas in the coming days; it is expected to hit the U.S. on Thursday. Both Carolinas and Virginia have issued mandatory evacuation orders for low-lying coastal areas. If Florence lands in North Carolina as a Category 4, it'll be the strongest recorded storm to hit that far north.
