In a Tuesday call with President Trump, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman "totally denied any knowledge" of what happened to U.S.-based Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Trump wrote on Twitter. Earlier reports suggested the Saudi government would claim Khashoggi was accidentally killed during a botched interrogation in Turkey's Saudi consulate. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Riyadh on Tuesday to discuss Khashoggi's disappearance. Pompeo and bin Salman called the president together, Trump tweeted, and bin Salman said he had already launched "a full and complete investigation into this matter." Turkish officials say they found "certain evidence" that Khashoggi was murdered in the consulate, while Saudi Arabia continues to deny involvement.
