President Trump landed in Britain on Monday for a pomp-filled state visit, D-Day commemorations in Britain and France, and a trip to Ireland and his golf resort there. Trump had already delved into British politics before landing, earning criticism from the British press and politicians, and he announced his landing in a tweet attacking London's mayor, Sadiq Khan. Khan "has been foolishly 'nasty' to the visiting president of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom," and "he is a stone cold loser," Trump tweeted. "I look forward to being a great friend to the United Kingdom, and am looking very much forward to my visit." He earlier called Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, "nasty," too.
