A 16-year-old Guatemalan migrant died in a Border Patrol processing center after immigration agents failed to provide medical care for a serious flu diagnosis, ProPublica reported Thursday. Carlos Gregorio Hernandez Vasquez was sick when he was placed in a holding cell in Texas in May, and a nurse practitioner said he should be frequently checked and taken to the emergency room if he worsened. Video footage shows he was not given medical attention even as he collapsed and later died on the floor. Additionally, footage doesn't align with Border Patrol's description of his death. Hernandez Vasquez was the sixth migrant child to die while in migrant detention in less than a year. An agency spokesman said officials "are looking into all aspects of this case."
